Xiangcheng District, Suzhou — Agera’s Vice General Manager Zhang Xiuying has been named a 2025 “Advanced Individual” in Xiangcheng District’s reform and development recognition program. For a resistance welding equipment manufacturer that has spent 25 years in the industry, the award reflects both her personal achievements and the company’s growth under her leadership.
Zhang joined the resistance welding industry with a focus on custom resistance welding equipment — R&D, sales, and industrialization. In the early days, she personally built out the company’s sales, finance, and supply chain functions, laying the foundation for standardized, scaled operations. Her careful financial management and efficient supply chain system have supported the company’s continued innovation and stable operation.
Her strategic vision and market development work stand out. When the internet wave reached the industry, she broke with tradition and built Agera’s online marketing system from the ground up — using digital tools to reach customers precisely and significantly raising brand influence and market competitiveness. On the global side, she led the team into international markets with a forward-looking approach, bringing “Agera Manufacturing” to more than 40 countries and completing the shift from a local player to a global one.
She has also invested in technical depth and talent development, building a multidisciplinary R&D team and strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Agera has carried out joint technical work with Nanjing Forestry University, Soochow University, and the Guangdong Sino-Ukrainian Welding Institute. The company has been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Jiangsu Provincial Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprise, a Suzhou Industrial Design Center, and a Suzhou Gazelle Enterprise. It received the Su-Xi-Chang First Set of Major Equipment award in 2021 and 2024, and was recognized three times under Jiangsu’s New Technology and New Product program (Batches 26, 29, and 32), along with the Jiangsu Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award.
On the technical front, Agera’s self-developed double-head pulsating flash butt welder for new energy electric drive axle housings broke the monopoly of imported equipment in automotive manufacturing and is now in volume use at leading domestic axle and axle-housing manufacturers. The company’s intelligent welding line for new energy vehicle suspension system ball pins solved common technical challenges in dual-station intelligent connection and full-process dimensional vision inspection, filling a gap in the industry. Agera also solved the precision spot welding penetration control challenge for ultra-thin liquid cooling plates used in AI and computing applications, and the resistance welding automation line for nuclear TVS gadolinium-bearing fuel rod end plugs and cladding tubes — a technology that broke the long-standing import monopoly in nuclear industry welding and achieved domestic substitution of core nuclear welding equipment, addressing the bottleneck of imported high-end intelligent welding equipment in the nuclear sector.
From local roots to global reach, from technical breakthroughs to system building, Zhang Xiuying embodies both the drive of an entrepreneur and the pragmatism of an engineer. The Advanced Individual award will encourage her and the Agera team to continue pursuing the company’s mission of “connecting the world with safety and quality” — and to keep moving forward with the light of welding.
