The fundamental reason is that the transformer, electrode, transistor, control board and other components will generate a lot of heat under high current and long time operation. The heat is too high. It will damage the parts of the welding machine.
Welding transformer: Because the primary current density of the welding transformer is high and the secondary is water-cooled, no welding is allowed before the transformer is connected to the cooling water. The cooling system is also equipped with an inflatable exhaust valve to protect the transformer. Especially when the temperature is low in winter and the welding machine is not working, the water in the pipe should be blown out with compressed air to avoid damage to the welding transformer water pipe due to freezing and expansion.
Upper and lower electrodes: The electrode head must be cooled all the time during the whole welding process. If the cooling water temperature is too high and there is no time to cool the electrode, the electrode material will become loose, the resistance will increase, and the welding effect will deteriorate.
Crystal valve tube: The power controller of the equipment often uses an internal cooling crystal valve tube. In order to ensure normal operation, a water flow control valve is set on the cooling pipe. If the circulating water does not reach the required flow rate, the crystal valve tube will not conduct.
