What to Consider When Installing a Mid-Frequency Spot Welding Machine’s Water and Air Supply?

What are the precautions for electrical, water, and air installation of a mid-frequency spot welding machine? Here are the key points:

IF inverter spot welder

Electrical Installation:

The machine must be reliably grounded, and the grounding wire’s minimum cross-sectional area must be equal to or greater than that of the power supply cable.

The controller’s control lines and the main machine are connected by a 7-core aviation plug. During installation, simply insert the aviation plug directly into the aviation socket.

Air Installation:

An air switch must be installed in the main circuit of the welding machine. The capacity of the air switch should meet the requirements outlined in the table.

The discharge output cable of the control box is connected to the input end of the main discharge transformer.

Water Installation:

The water source pressure should be stable, and the pressure of compressed air should not be less than 0.5 MPa. If necessary, an air storage tank should be placed near the welding machine, and a φ12mm hose clamp should be used to tighten the hose onto the air inlet of the air circuit three-element with a rubber tube.

The water pressure should generally not be less than 0.15 MPa, and the inlet water temperature should not exceed 30 degrees. Pure water is required to reduce the risk of electrical leakage or pipeline blockage. In areas where multiple welding machines are operating, if the water source pressure is too low or unstable, a dedicated cooling water loop system should be set up.

The inlet and outlet connection diameter is φ8mm and can be connected using a hose. Cooling water may not be necessary when the heat generated by the instantaneous discharge of the energy storage welding machine is small, when the operating frequency is low, or when the electrode head can dissipate heat sufficiently.
